« Science for Education” Priority Research Program

Two multi-year programs were being set up around educational research as part of the “Investissement d'Avenir” programs. The “Teaching and Digital Technology” Priority Research Program and Equipment (PEPR), which was supported by CNRS, INRIA and Aix-Marseille University, was finally halted. The 10 million euros allocated to this PEPR for calls for research projects has been transferred to the Priority Research Program (PPR) “Sciences for Education”, funded under PIA 3 and led by CNRS and the University of Poitiers, and should therefore be added to the 20 to 30 million euros already allocated to this PPR.

In spring 2023, the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) and the Secrétariat Général Pour l'Investissement (SGPI) asked the holders of the “Sciences pour l'éducation” RPP to make a few changes to the first program proposal they had submitted. These modifications were finalized and a new version submitted in summer 2023. Since then, they have been awaiting the launch of the program, the timetable for which remains uncertain, but which should take place sometime in 2024. The launch of the program should be accompanied by the launch of two calls for research projects, one aimed at exploratory projects, and the other geared towards funding large-scale projects designed to test innovative pedagogical solutions.
