Call for expressions of interest “Educational Inequalities” from the CNRS Mission for Transversal and Interdisciplinary Initiatives (MITI)

Années de lancement et de fin : 2022 – 2023

Responding to the major societal challenge of educational inequalities requires the promotion of high-level, interdisciplinary scientific research involving all disciplines. The cross-disciplinary viewpoint of scientists from different fields and backgrounds enriches reflection on ways of learning and on the differences in methods and implementation. The present call for expressions of interest (AMI) is addressed to scientists from all CNRS units, and aims to map activities and projects in order to identify a diverse community, with the objective of co-constructing interdisciplinary approaches to the subject.

This AMI aims to identify projects led by groups of scientists with the objective of shedding light on educational mechanisms, learning processes and public policies, particularly in one of the following directions:

  • Understanding the causes of individual and collective educational inequalities
  • Development and validation of tools and methods for combating inequalities
  • Informed and reflexive approaches to the issues, content and forms of education both inside and outside the school system.

The existence of a validation phase with target audiences is emphasized. All disciplines can be mobilized, either from a methodological point of view (mainly human and social sciences, cognition and digital science) or from a didactic point of view, by providing a field and a framework for experimentation.
